Have you ever wanted to draw the softness of a feather or your kitty cat’s fur? Or perhaps you would like to replicate the bumpy and scaly skin of a crocodile or Komodo dragon? It’s not as difficult as you might think, and all of us can learn to draw these exciting details! Join our next art adventure to learn how to draw the beautiful textures and patterns we find in the animal kingdom, and in all of nature!

Join our fun and interactive class which focuses on conversation skills, vocabulary enhancement, and personal ownership of student’s second language. Activities include oral presentations, novel reading and discussion, theater games, music exposure, newspaper creation, logic problems, poetry writing, and so much more!

Students: Do you have a beginning base in Spanish and are looking for an opportunity to learn more? Do you want to grow your listening, pronunciation and conversational skills with other students? Then Español Eléctrico is for you! This semester, we will follow the adventures of a young boy as he journeys through the cities and jungles of Colombia. Your eyes will be opened to the language, diverse people, customs, and cultures of South America.
Parents: Through a comprehensible input model, children will build on their beginning level Spanish language skills to learn up to 350 nouns, verbs, and common expressions. Our semester study will consist of a short novel, ‘Peter va a Colombia,’ as our core curriculum. Games, projects, and lessons will revolve around the book. Students will be expected to read passages and complete homework prior to class meetings. Additional Skype tutoring is available for an additional fee.

Come discover the amazing and varied world of bugs as we fly into the study of arthropods, metamorphosis, pollinators, and more!

Let’s look through your backpack, pull out loose papers, organize and prioritize! We have all the materials on-hand: folders, hole-punchers, binder dividers, and most importantly, wise mentorship! Recover from the week and get ready for the next.
4:30 - 5:10pm
Now, we’ll organize our minds and spirits with guided activities to recognize emotions, relax from stress, and re-energize our positivity! Mindfulness exercises will be instructed, practiced, and integrated into your tool-belt of life skills.
5:10 - 5:30pm
Do you need friendship advice? Are you worried about current events? Do you have other questions, wonderings, feelings that you’d like to explore in a safe place? This will be our unique community discussion space for anything we want to express and share.

Enjoy an engaging week of integrated learning for all parts of the heart, body, and mind!
Using an immersion-style of instruction, fun activities enhance vocabulary and personal ownership of Spanish. Theater projects, Mexican cooking, Mindfulness exercises, and Field Trips all support brain development and allow for integration of new words and friendships. A balance of learning and relaxing creates an atmosphere where young people can express themselves and gain confidence in being truly bilingual!

Are all of the surfaces of your house covered in amazing Lego creations? Does your child enjoy constructing bridges, building spaceships, and planning entire cities? Do you often hear about new characters and plot twists to alter and enhance your kid’s favorite video game?
This wonderful workshop will support young engineers, architects, and game designers. Through hands-on explorations of how structures are dreamed of and designed, as well as projects that explain the basic concepts of programming, your child’s passions will be explored and advanced. Each participant will test-out their own engineering ideas, and create their own computer game. Problem solving and team work will be emphasized as new sustainable cities come to life, and new imaginary creatures dance across the screen!

After celebrating Earth Day and learning more about the fragility of our ecosystems, as well as the challenges we face in the next generations, it is time to enjoy a family movie about climate change. The screening will be followed by a discussion to discover and share the small, but extremely meaningful, actions we can take to save our planet!
