Our Instructors
Erin McCoy
Owner & Instructor
Erin McCoy is a credentialed bilingual instructor with 20 years of teaching experience in Spanish and English! She has studied Montessori, Waldorf, and TRIBES philosophies, and is a Certified Mindfulness Instructor. Erin’s ten years of working in the public education system prompted her to create SharePath Academy to help students reach their full potential, academically, emotionally, and socially. She believes strongly in the creation of safe spaces for children to be themselves in order to realize their unique gifts. Her education specialties include Spanish & English Language Arts for all ages and all levels, with an emphasis on writing skills and having fun while learning. She has also been trained in Making Math Real modalities which focus on the symbol imaging skills of the brain to support mathematical fluency. Community building is at the forefront of her teaching philosophy, and she truly enjoys the opportunity to support parents and their children on the exciting journey of learning together. In her free time, Erin enjoys working in her garden, playing soccer with her son, and hiking in the redwoods.
Jenise Williams
Instructor
Jenise, a Fiesta Gardens alumni and Erin McCoy’s former student, is a bilingual undergraduate at CSM, studying Film and English. She is an aspiring screenwriter and SharePath’s Improv coach and Art instructor. Jenise has experience hosting classes for all ages and teaching Spanish to elementary students. As an instructor, she brings an open-minded personality to the team and encourages students to use their imagination and trust their creative flow. In addition, she encourages community by sculpting ways for students to be a part of the center’s ongoing activities. She motivates students to submit articles to the monthly newsletter she built, The SharePath Buzz. She organizes stimulating community art projects, and assigns job roles to our future leaders. In her free time, Jenise loves riding her motorcycle, writing sci-fi stories, playing Scrabble, and traveling worldwide.
Angelica Webster
Instructor
Angelica Webster has been a proud member of SharePath Academy for over six years. Originally from Southern California, she received a Bachelor’s Degree in English from UC Berkeley, a Classroom Educator Certification (OGCE – Orton-Gillingham Classroom Educator level) with the International Dyslexia Association, and a Design & Multimedia Certification from CSM. Her joy is working with the “littles” (grades K-5). She makes learning fun and turns every lesson into a multisensory experience. Angelica consistently encourages students to love their unique qualities and to trust and believe in themselves. She is further inspired by SharePath’s mission to promote and advocate for respect, creativity, and individuality. Inspiring and nurturing each child to grow academically, socially, and linguistically is a challenge she loves. Angelica is also a lover of languages. In addition to being bilingual in Spanish, she has immersed herself in French, Italian, Swedish, Hebrew and German. Outside of work, Angelica enjoys being active, discovering new places, designing, reading, volunteering, crafting, and spending time with her dogs, family and friends.
Katherine Relf-Canas
Instructor
Katherine has explored writing from many angles over various chapters of her career and loves to share her love of language, big ideas and empowered self-expression. She has a degree in writing pedagogy from UCSD, and has been involved in education, tech and Internet startups. At ROLM, the company that invented voicemail, she worked in employee communications. At Softbank Expos, she was an early witness to the Web explosion and worked as a web architect. At ZDNet, she worked in feeds and content partnerships, watching the Wild West of the Internet take shape. She has also worked in the nonprofit world, for organizations with a focus on youth social justice and empowerment. Going on eight years helping SharePath students with language arts, she cultivates enthusiastic learners, preparing them for their future and bringing enrichment to their present moment. Her sessions for independent learners tend to be custom, interdisciplinary explorations but she also supports students with standard K-12 academic work.
Sandra Soto-Grondona
Instructor
Originally from Chile, South America, I grew up close to nature and walking the cobblestone streets of Valparaiso. I began studying Architecture, but had to emigrate with many other Chileans after a military dictatorship took over our country. I continued studying Architecture at UC Berkeley where I worked with The Co-Housing Company and helped publish the Green Pages with ADPSR (Architects, Designers and Planners for Social Responsibility). I worked on international development for five years and lived in Costa Rica, learning about indigenous issues and ecology. My next project involved local Latinos and the SF League of Urban Gardeners to design a park in the Mission District. This led to 12 years as a member of the SF Planning Department, focusing on long-range policies related to open space, housing, accessibility, and historic & cultural preservation. I became the mother of a boy, who reminded me of the importance of youth leadership, humility toward nature, and the pursuit of social justice, all of which relates to being a Climate Reality Project trained member. With SharePath, I have designed and taught many after school classes: Beginning Spanish, History of Mesoamerica, Introduction to Sustainable Architecture, as well as tutored all ages in Math & Spanish Language Arts.
Andrés Urquidez
Instructor
Andrés is a former Fiesta Gardens International Elementary student, and a wonderful member of our local bilingual community. He has stepped-up as the ‘go-to guy’ for leading outdoor activities in the SharePath after school program. You can often find him getting muddy with the kids in the front yard, and also doing an excellent job of teaching conflict resolution when tempers flare up and competition gets intense. He loves working at SharePath because the kids are encouraged to be expressive and loud, and to simply be kids! Andrés is currently a Junior at Hillsdale High School and aspires to be an auto engineer for a professional race team. He enjoys Robotics courses and building things from scratch, such as remote control car kits. Andrés loves sports and is currently a member of the HHS Varsity Lacrosse team. In his free time, he likes to play video games with his friends, travel with his family, and be creative with his 3D printer.
